Well Garret won 3rd place in his class science fair. He was so excited and I am so proud of him. We both worked hard on it and that says a lot since this was always a Derek project. He didn't win in the school wide but still he did amazing!!! Met with his teacher today and all in all she says he is doing good just have to work on his hard head a little. Proud of both these boys during this journey!!!!

Good morning everyone! Just trying to keep the blog going but don't have a lot of time these days. The boys got accepted into Camp Comfort Zone in Richmond, VA and are very excited. It is a camp for children who have lost a parent so I think it will be very good for them.
Garret went on his first big boat fishing trip yesterday with Uncle Lonny and loved it. At first it broke my heart because I think oh Derek should be here doing this but the smile on his face when he got back was amazing. He had a great time!!! Ethan and I had a day together since Garret was fishing, we went to see movie and then enjoyed some time in the sun. He is a amazing little boy.

Well I was able to finally get Derek's headstone placed, I am very happy with it and glad they could finally get it set. If you look at the bottom left you will see the boys hand prints and signature in the base.

Also I finally was able to get Derek's tattoo. For people who don't know the story: Derek had been looking for a cross tattoo for a year now and could never find anything he liked. Well 7/1/2012 on Ethan birthday we walked into this tattoo shop and in ten minutes he found this one and loved it, tried to talk us into getting it that night but we told him we would come back the next night after our cookout since there were so many people with us. Anyway he was suppose to get it the night of the accident and never got to. So now four friends and I have it and it is on his headstone in which I hope to have places this month! Love u all!

Well I haven't been great about keeping all this up but just trying to get past the holidays! The boys ended up letting the excitement get the best of them and really had a good Christmas! Wish us adults could do the same sometimes. Anyway we are still taking it a day or week at a time and keeping our heads up. I wish I could say it gets easier but it doesn't but we have to move forward, there is no Plan B!

Christmas 2011

Christmas for us will never be the same without Derek's energy and smile! Thank GOD my boys are able to smile through all the bad and still appreciate life, Derek taught them that.
I am amazed by the people that have really stepped up in my life and tried their best to make this a good Christmas! Thank you too my family and friends!
We spent Christmas Eve at the farm with my family and Brent was in town, our best present this year. We will go enjoy Derek's family on Christmas Day and Always remember how amazing he was and how lucky we were to have him in our life.

Sorry I have been bad about updating on this page just busy finding our way in life these days.
Boys are trying to be excited for Christmas and I am doing my best to make it a good one.
I have another surgery to remove the filter on December 20th and then nothing else for at least a year.
We are trying to stay strong but please keep the prays coming!
